Files missing from checksums.dat after org-mobile-push on Windows

Hi everyone,

I've been having difficulties setting up org-mobile-push. Basically the checksums.dat file only contains the checksums for index.org, mobileorg.org and agendas.org.

I followed the steps on the documentation and the "Synchronization only updates the agendas.org file..." on the FAQ, and took a look at a previous post on this forum on the same issue (Issue #246), all to no avail.

I'm an Emacs/Org-mode/MobileOrg newbie. I've been trying to configure MobileOrg to work on an Android 2.3.6 device with Dropbox as synchronization mode. I'm using Emacs 24.1 on Windows 7.

If I need to change any function definition, could someone please write out the detailed steps that need be taken? (I tried the hack suggested in the issue #246 post after byte-recompile-directory, but it didn't work, together with sha1sum.exe from the FAQ, and the sha1sum and md5sum from coreutils).

Best,

Org-mode version 7.8.03

I've been having difficulties setting up org-mobile-push. Basically the
checksums.dat file only contains the checksums for index.org,
mobileorg.org and agendas.org.
I remember, i found a similar problem on windows, IIRC with a
binary for GnuWin32, which should solve the the problem.
Perhaps you have a look at
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2012-09/msg00700.html

The solution in the discussion pointed there did not work for
me, but pointed me to ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/sha1sum.exe,
which worked fine for me.

Recently i turned windows the back and now i use linux, because many
things needed much more time on windows. Only a clock-in in orgmode
needed about a minute or more, on Mac or linux only a second or two.

HTH

Thanks, I tried changing the org-mobile-checksum-binary path to a path with no spaces, both for md5sum and sha1sum, but it didn't work.

I'm actually moving my workflow to Linux, but the computers at the office run on Windows.

I have the same problem. Somehow on my Windows XP (32bit) machine it works and on Windows 7 (64 bit) it doesn't. I tried md5sum and sha1sum, neither helps.
I have org-mode 7.9.3e and my emacs settings synched between both machines, so everthing else works due to the same setup.

It's possible, the gnuwin32 version are working fine on XP, i'm not sure.

Hi,

thanks for the hint. I've tried ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/sha1sum.exe on Win XP (32bit) and it works. The same procedure on Win 7 (64bit) does not work. Is it possible that the 64bit system is somehow the reason? I thought it would not matter, since everything else runs fine.
