When I capture a new TODO item in "Captures" and sync in the app afterwards, then the TODO item will vanish from the Captures outline and it is not present in MobileOrg anymore. It will sync to Emacs later, though. I just don't understand why I cannot see it any longer on Android after the sync? This does not happen with normal headlines, though! If anyone could explain this to me, that would be great. Thanks!

This is an old question but I was struggling with this as well. Once notes written to the Capture node are written to the mobileorg.org file you can't see them. I think this is just a rough edge of the sync process.

The way I worked around this was by not capturing notes to the "Capture" node. When I added the capture widget to my device, I was able to select where the captured items should go and I just created a node in one of my org file to put all these captures. It is a much better system.

I suspect the "Captures" area predates the advanced capture stuff.

The traditional workflow of orgmobile is such that your install of org in
emacs should look in mobileorg.org and handle the merging of items into
your working org files. Until that happens, your captures will sit in
mobileorg.org.

For sure, but that just means that anything written to the "Captures" group is not visible on the android device for the time between a sync on the device and when a pull and push his done from emacs.
