Dynamic agenda how-to?

I suppose I'm missing something in the way dynamic agendas are supposed to
work. (If not that, then there's a nasty bug somewhere.)

So here's what I did:

1. Menu > Agendas
2. Plus sign.
3. Give it a title: "To do today"
4. Add entry, and title it.
5. Check "Active to do's only"
6. Type in the tag "Today"
7. Choose the files
8. Disk icon to save the entry
9. The previous screen (from step 3) is empty -- the title is gone and the
entry I just defined is gone too.

These seem like reasonable actions for the interface, but the result is
disappointing ;-)

The title of a block agenda is not saved when adding entries. I'm aware of
this bug. Currently you need to add entries and end by giving it a title.
The entries you created are probably not gone, they are just added with an
empty title. The dynamic agendas feature is to be considered beta quality
(at best).

Ok, I tried this but after saving the agenda block, the agenda screen was
still empty.

If a block has been saved successfully, what should I see in the agenda
screen? I'd expect something you can tap to open a block: a line as in the
outline view or a button or something. I see a black screen. The only
active control is (+) in the title bar. I can go back to the outline view
using Android's back button and that's about it.

Likewise here. After saving an entry, there is nothing in the Entries box.
If the display is supposed to be a line for an entry, I'd have thought the
Add Entry button would move down vertically even if the entries' names
didn't get saved. Instead, there's no visible change.

I just tried with 0.9.8 (updated minutes ago from Google play).

This was an adventure.

- Yesterday, I had tried cleaning up the database and resyncing. It
didn't fix the behavior.

- So, when you said "Try clearing all of the application's data," I
thought this meant going to Settings > Apps > MobileOrg on the device
and clearing data. After doing this, MobileOrg's database was still
intact. Nothing was cleared.

- So then I thought, slash and burn time, I'll uninstall and
reinstall. The uninstall operation hung. So I rebooted the tablet and
uninstalled through the Google play store, instead of Settings > Apps.

- Reconfigured and resynced. Tried dynamic agendas. No difference in behavior.

Sorry, it really looks like dynamic agendas are just not working at
all in 0.9.8.

I can reproduce it. I get exactly the same behaviour as the OP, nothing
ever gets saved (this is on 0.98 from Google Play, on Android 4.1.2
cyanogenmod 10.0.0-skyrocket).

I can reproduce it. I get exactly the same behaviour as the OP, nothing
