Discussion:
Crashes on main screen after sync

When on the main screen where it lists your org files, if I click on a leaf
in the tree or press the big plus button in the blue bar up top, it just
crashes.

Probably unrelated - I'm not seeing the agendas.org file being produced on
either side...

Running 0.9.11 on Android 4.1.2 on a Motorola Razr M

Thanks!

should get it soon.

I noticed that on the wiki
(https://github.com/matburt/mobileorg-android/wiki) it has a link to a
release archive directory, but it looks like you've not updated it
since 0.9.8. I realize I'm weird in that I don't keep a Google account
on my phone -- so Google play doesn't work for me unless I add the
account, install, and remove the account; so feel free to tell me to
sod off when I ask if you could put the releases in
http://matburt.net/files/MobileOrg/ too. Either way I'll give .12 a
spin.

Thanks!

Still seeing crashes in .12

On com.matburt.mobileorg.Gui.Capture.EditActivity line 52
NullPointerException

Hard to tell as github doesn't show line numbers when browsing on a phone, but it looks like getSupportMenuInflater might be returning null?

There's another message in the stack trace about an error in binary XML line 47 error inflating class fragment. I'd include the full thing but it won't allow me to do copy/paste of the thing.

Hope that helps.

hah! No problem... I was just thinking to myself that this looks like the
NRE I just fixed.

Let me know if you see any other issues.

Thanks again for the help

Apologies. I'm an idiot. .12 does fix it.... I swore I installed it, but
clearly I didn't.
Donning the brown bag of shame,

I believe the screenshots are in the proper order, with a little overlap.
If there's anything else you can think of that I can get you, let me know.

Would it be possible for you to get me the whole trace?

Still seeing crashes in .12
On com.matburt.mobileorg.Gui.Capture.EditActivity line 52
NullPointerException
Hard to tell as github doesn't show line numbers when browsing on a
phone, but it looks like getSupportMenuInflater might be returning null?
There's another message in the stack trace about an error in binary XML
line 47 error inflating class fragment. I'd include the full thing but it
won't allow me to do copy/paste of the thing.
Hope that helps.

Hey no problem... I'll throw it up there. Sometimes I forget that I
intended to put older releases up there :)

Hey there Andy... I've pushed a fix up to the play store. It's
0.9.12, you should get it soon.
When on the main screen where it lists your org files, if I
click
Post by Matthew Jones via mobileorg-android
on a leaf in the tree or press the big plus button in the blue
bar
Post by Matthew Jones via mobileorg-android
up top, it just crashes.
Probably unrelated - I'm not seeing the agendas.org
<http://agendas.org> file being produced on either side...
Running 0.9.11 on Android 4.1.2 on a Motorola Razr M
Thanks!

I noticed that on the wiki
(https://github.com/matburt/mobileorg-android/wiki) it has a link to a
release archive directory, but it looks like you've not updated it
since 0.9.8. I realize I'm weird in that I don't keep a Google account
on my phone -- so Google play doesn't work for me unless I add the
account, install, and remove the account; so feel free to tell me to
sod off when I ask if you could put the releases in
http://matburt.net/files/MobileOrg/ too. Either way I'll give .12 a
spin.
Thanks!
Andy

It would probably be a good idea to make sure MobileOrg gets updated on F-Droid as soon as it's updated in the market. The good folks at F-Droid are supposed to auto-update it when it updates in the market, but for some reason, they're still on 0.9.8.

If it gets updated regularly in F-Droid, people who don't use the Play store will be able to get it updated regularly (though Dropbox sync won't work).

I probably won't ever work directly with the FDroid folks. I didn't have a
good experience with them several years ago when they posted the app
without my permission and refused to pull it down.
